88.9 The Bridge Birthday Update

Hello KMIH Staff and families,

The KMIH leadership team is proud to celebrate the 4th anniversary of 889 The Bridge! Before we rebranded our station to The Bridge, KMIH was known as “Hot Jamz,” with only 18 students in the class. Fast-forwarding to 2021, we’ve expanded our enrollment to over 140 radio students in 4 class periods. KMIH has received significant recognition and is finalists in 30 different categories for the 2021 IBS Media Golden Microphone Awards.

In honor of The Bridge’s 4th anniversary, we have successfully launched an all-new donation page on our website, 889thebridge.org. We are hosting a fundraiser this week, with a goal of raising $4,000 in donations from community members and families of KMIH student staff by the end of our anniversary week (2/6/21). This is an excellent opportunity for family members to support their child’s passion for radio directly.
