The primary mission of Advanced Radio is to expand students learning about broadcast media so that they can continue to build their skill sets and contribute to our award-winning content, and increasingly popular brand. Advanced radio classes connect and expose students to the broadcast industry with a focus on hands-on training. Students continue to learn the fundamentals of production, on-air delivery, marketing and operating a REAL radio station. In Advanced Radio, students have the opportunity to take on individualized projects and duties that allow them to play to their strengths and interests. Izzie Brown- is a junior at Mercer Island. It is her third year in the program and she is very excited to continue broadcasting and making shows with her friends. Outside of radio, Izzie plays volleyball for the MIHS girls volleyball team.
Keawe Brown - is a senior at Mercer Island Highschool. It is his second year in the radio program and he is excited to start working on broadcasts and shows. Outside of radio, Keawe enjoys lifting and skiing with his friends.
Ava Chastain - is a sophomore and it is her 2nd year with the radio station. She swims club and for the high school and plays basketball as well. In her free time she enjoys baking, skating and hanging out with friends and family. She is excited for live broadcasting and recording PSA's.
Huck Dixon - is a sophomore at Mercer Island High School and is in his second year of radio. He has a show on KMIH called 'What's Rumbling?' about volcanoes. He is excited to continue recording for the radio station and maybe even going live! Huck likes to be in nature when he is not at school and enjoys looking up stuff on the Internet.
Riley Dowdey - is a sophomore at Mercer Island High School. It is her second year doing radio and she is excited to keep on doing radio and learning more about it. Riley likes to relax and spend time with animals.
Zach Hyman - is a sophomore at Mercer Island High School. It is his second year in the program. He is excited to record more sports podcasts, broadcast, and go live. He enjoys playing soccer and tennis.
Auden Iscovitz - is a junior at Mercer Island High School. It is her second year in the radio program and she is very excited to continue to produce radio shows with her friends. Outside of radio, Auden enjoys skiing, riding her horse and hanging out with her family/friends.
Nashiba Khamis - is a junior at Mercer Island High. This is her second year doing radio and she is extremely excited to see what this year has in store for her. Outside of radio, she loves hanging out with friends, trying new things and going tubing.
Ziva Levin - is a sophomore at Mercer Island High School. This is her second year in the radio program. She is excited to continue with her podcast and do more live broadcasts with new people. Outside of radio she is a cheerleader. She enjoys working with kids and hanging out with her friends.
Laszlo McKenna - is a sophmore at MIHS. It is his second year in radio and he is excited to create a new show this year. Outside of the program, he plays football for the high school, as well as wrestling and track.
Sydney Parcel - is a junior at Mercer Island High School. It is her third year in the radio program, and she is excited to continue her podcast, The Podcast Podcast, which is featured every Friday at 6pm. Sydney loves sports, she plays volleyball and tennis for school.
Jerry Phan - is a senior at Mercer Island High School. It is his 3rd year in the radio program and he is excited to do sportscasts and a show on sports. Outside of radio, Jerry plays for MIHS boys team.
Aadyaa Singhal - is a junior at Mercer Island High School. It is her third year in the radio program, and she is excited to continue her show, The Podcast Podcast. Outside of radio, Aadyaa is part of numerous clubs at the highschool including PETRI and enjoys playing violin and swimming. You can listen to her show every Friday at 6pm!
Olivia Azzano - is a sophomore ready to continue her radio journey into its second year. Her show, Wandering the Wide World focuses on lesser-known stories around the world. When she isn't editing her episodes, she can be found practicing her trumpet or reading a book from her ever-expanding library.
Rhydian Battersby - is a sophomore at MIHS. He likes basketball and is excited to be returning for a second year of KMIH radio.
Justen Bienstock - is a sophomore on the MIHS advanced radio team. He plays soccer, tennis, and is truly passionate about the Mercer Island radio community. He is super excited to not only continue his old podcast, Final Standings, with his old buddies, but also make a new one with his new advanced radio classmates. It's his second year in the radio program and he is ready to start calling soccer games. Go Islanders!
Haiden Byers - Is a sophomore at MIHS. It is his second year in the radio program, and he is excited to do podcasts with friends and have fun in the program. He also plays soccer for club and high school, and coaches’ soccer outside of school.
Ella Chang - is a sophomore at MIHS. It is her second year in the radio program, and she is so excited to continue her podcast, Off Camera and create more content for The Bridge. Outside of radio, Ella enjoys traveling and hanging out with friends.
Avery Cohen - is a sophomore at MIHS and will be entering her 2nd year in the radio program. She is excited to continue her podcast, Off Camera for the 2nd year, to make more promos for the radio station, and to go live! Outside of school, Avery really enjoys playing soccer and volunteering with PETRI, a club she’s in. You can listen to Off Camera every Tuesday at 8pm on 88.9 The Bridge.
Bryanna Denmarsh - is a junior at MIHS. She is excited to be a part of a new podcast called, What’s Poppin'. Outside of her radio show, Bryanna likes to ski, play lacrosse, and hang out with her friends.
Sam Hinnen - is a sophomore at MIHS. It's her 2nd year in the program. This year, she hopes to continue her show- What's Poppin'- and maybe start some new podcasts with new people! Outside of school, Sam enjoys hiking, wake surfing, and anything out on the water.
Sam Karami - is a sophomore at MIHS and it is his second year in the radio program. Outside of radio, Sam loves to play tennis and hang out with friends.
Porter Larsen - is a sophomore at MIHS. It is his second year in the program. He is super excited to continue working alongside his peers and make some amazing radio! Outside of radio, tennis and lacrosse are some of his favorite activities to do!
Katie Leavitt - is a sophomore at MIHS. It is her second year in radio, and she is excited to continue working on her show, Girl Talk, and to go live on the radio. Outside of radio, Katie plays soccer for the high school team, and coaches youth soccer.
Luke Loiselle - is a sophomore at MIHS. It is his second year in the radio program, and he is very excited to get back onto the air. Luke's favorite subject is science, and he loves playing tennis.
Brady Mock - is a sophomore at MIHS and is in his 2nd year with The Bridge. Brady loves playing soccer and tennis. He’s super excited for the new year at The Bridge and is excited to make podcasts and promos with all of his friends. Brady has a podcast called, Final Standing which will be on at 8pm on Wednesdays.
Megan Opati - is a sophomore at MIHS. It’s her second year in the radio program. She's really excited to continue her podcast, Storytime. Outside of radio, she enjoys doing track and field, singing and wants to work harder in both. You can listen to the Storytime Podcast Saturdays at 11am.
Will Prock - is on his third year of radio class and is already thinking about the coming year. In his free time, he loves to go outside, read, hang out with friends, and play video games. his favorite musical artist is Lil Peep. He also runs a feature on Wednesday. Will plays club volleyball in the 17-18 division.
Lucas Rosato - is a senior at MIHS. It is his second year in the radio program. He took intro to radio as a sophomore and now, as a senior hopes to end high school on a fun note talking about things he loves on the radio.
Sophia Rodriguez - is a sophomore at MIHS, this is her second year in the KMIH radio class. Sophia is looking forward to continuing her podcast, learning to run the board, and explore other aspects of radio. Outside of the classroom, Sophia is a very dedicated runner. When she is not running, she is hanging out with family, chilling, or doing something outside.
Vivi Shea - is a sophomore at MIHS. This is her 2nd year in the program. She is excited to continue her podcast, Off Camera that she does with her friends! She is also excited to create promos, PSA's, and to continue to go live in her advanced class! Outside of radio she enjoys playing volleyball and is on the high school team. She also enjoys playing tennis and hanging out with her family and friends. You can listen to her podcast, Off Camera every Tuesday at 8pm!!
Benny Shleifer - is a sophomore at MIHS. It is his 2nd year in the program. He is super excited to continue his sports and mini-game podcasts. Benny is excited to go live and discuss about topics with friends on the air. Outside of radio, Benny's favorite subject is math and he is a baseball player.
Emerson Stubbers - is a sophomore and an advanced radio student. She is part of girl’s swim and dive and also loves to sing and play the guitar. She is very funny, passionate, and a hard worker.
Jayne Tintle - is a sophomore and she is super excited to continue her awesome pop culture show, What's Poppin'. Outside of radio, Jayne plays tennis and is excited to play this year. You can listen to What's Poppin' on Monday's at 8PM.
Leon Vorkoper - is a sophomore at MIHS. It is his second year in the radio program. He is super excited to continue his shows with his friends. Outside of radio, Leon loves playing lacrosse and hanging out with friends. He also loves watching sports and is super excited for another year of radio.
Elianna Weiss - is a sophomore at MIHS. Elianna loves connecting with peers and making new friends, she has found great success with that in radio here at the high school. Tune into Elianna's show "Ces't La Vie" Thursdays at 8pm to learn more about her past, present, and if you stay long enough, her journey to the future!
Magnus Zettel - is a junior at the high school and in his third year of the radio program. In high school he enjoys the radio program along with his favorite subject’s math and history. He also plays soccer and wrestles for the high school. Outside of school he likes to hang out with his friends, snowboard, and mountain bike.
